Women’s Author Event

A free event co-presented by Quatrefoil Library and the Jean-Nickolaus Tretter Collection

The popular annual get-together of women writers and their fans returns Sunday, March 26. Hear from novelists, poets, essayists and short story writers in literary fiction, creative non-fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, essay, Young Adult and romance.

The free reading is followed by a chance to meet the authors, get books signed and talk about all things literary.

This year’s writers:

Catherine Lundoff, award-winning author of four short story collections and one novel, edited a collection of lesbian ghost stories. A recent release by Lundoff is “Out of This World: Queer Speculative Fiction Stories.” www.catherinelundoff.com

Mary Stein, whose short fiction can be found in Caketrain, The Brooklyn Rail and elsewhere, will read from her novel-in-progress “Wonderland Babies.” Stein is an instructor and board member of the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop. www.marycstein.com

Kirstin Cronn-Mills won a 2014 Stonewall Book Award from the American Library Association for her young-adult novel about a transgender teen, “Beautiful Music for Ugly Children.” She has been a finalist for both a Minnesota Book Award and a Lambda Literary Award.

Stephani Maari Booker writes prose and poetry. She will read from “Secret Insurrection,” her science fiction novel-in-progress. Her writing has appeared in Jalada 02: Afrofuture(s), and Adrienne: A Poetry Journal of Queer Women. www.goodreads.com/athenapm

Katrina Monroe will read from her novel, “All Darling Children,” called a “fascinating reimagining” of the Peter Pan story by Publishers Weekly. Other titles by the humor and fantasy writer are “A Tale Du Mort,” “Reaper” and “Sacrificial Lambcake.” www.authorkatrinamonroe.com

Rachel Gold is the award-winning  author of multiple queer and trans young adult novels, including “Being Emily,” the first young adult novel to tell the story of a trans girl from her perspective. She has an MFA in Writing from Hamline University. rachelgold.com.

MB Panichi has published two sci-fi/romance/adventure novels, “Saving Morgan,” and its sequel, “Running Toward Home.” Her third book, “Choosing Love,” a present-day romance, is due out in May.  Mbpanichi.com

Linda Morganstein is an artist and writer whose books include “Girls In Ice Houses,” “Ordinary Furies” and “My Life with Stella Kane.” She is working on a nonfiction book with the working title “Numinosity: My Life and Our Times.” lindamorganstein.com

Jessie Chandler is the award winning author of the Shay O’Hanlon Caper Series, starring a lesbian protagonist who tries to mind her own business but keeps stumbling into trouble.

Also scheduled to appear are Ellen Lansky and Catherine Friend.
